Tara Kutz is an award-winning filmmaker and creative producer based in Brooklyn, New York.

Tara produces documentary and commercial work with a “real people” approach and has worked with clients in locations all over the world. Tara is the co-director of the short film SATURDAY IN THE PARK, along with the creative duo 26 Aries, in collaboration with REI Co-op Studios. The film, narrated and executive produced by Steve Buscemi, is currently available at REI.com.

Tara is a 2020 New York Emmy Award winner in the Sports: Documentary category for the film "62,000:1 – Three Teams, One City, One Year” (Line Producer). She was a 2019 Artist-In-Residence at Millay Arts (formerly known as Millay Colony for the Arts) and is also a founding board member of the Millay Arts Alumni Advisory Board.

Tara was born and raised in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and attended college at SUNY Purchase. She later received her master’s degree from The New School, with a graduate certificate in Documentary Media Studies. In addition to filmmaking, Tara works on other archival, audio, and installation-based projects that explore personal and family histories, and themes of nature and place.
